What is this show, you ask? Just the best six hours of television I've ever seen... a little six-episode series called UltraViolet. Awesome ensemble cast, incredible angst, UST triads, slashy and hettish bits, plots within plots, and gorgeous actors with accents... Not many people have heard of it outside of the UK, I gather, although the SciFi channel aired it as a marathon a while back in the US.
It's a drama, a real thriller, and is so much better than X-Files (a good show in its own right) that I hesitate to mention that show in the same sentence, lest people try to compare them. And there are no comparable vampire shows or movies in existence. Nothing even comes close.
There's always a choice.

It's available as a DVD set, on sale in the US for $30 at Amazon, or in the UK for £23.59 at Blackstar.

A historical note about the series
The original series is only six episodes. No, there are not plans to make any more. There were rumours that a US version of the series would be made, with almost none of the original actors and different writers. I'm hoping this never happens, personally.
